PA Faculty Job Market Report

Report Series

Abstract

A recurring analysis of the academic labor market in public administration and public policy, built from a daily census of faculty postings rather than from survey recall. Three editions run off the same database: a monthly Candidate Pulse tracking what is open right now and how the season is developing; a candidate-facing annual reviewing hiring volume, rank and track composition, geography, and institutional type; and an institutional annual benchmarking programs against their peers. The underlying data are a continuously updated posting archive linked to program and placement records, which makes it possible to describe the market as it happens instead of after the fact.

The report series is built on the same posting archive that drives the live Academic Job Market Report dashboard, which updates nightly and is free to use without an account.
